Hi, I'm Heng Ou, the author of "The First Forty Days The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother," and the founder of MotherBees.

Twelve years ago, I started making food for anyone I knew who was pregnant. One friend was willing to try it early on, and she loved it. That friend told another friend, and soon strangers were asking for my meals. I realized new moms really needed this after giving birth. I used my family's Chinese Medicine knowledge and combined it with fresh ingredients from California farmer's markets to create these special meals.

I now want to share my favorite jar recipes with you so you can make them for your client, family, or friend.
 

Over a decade ago, there was not much attention given to new moms in America. Now, after the release of The First Forty Days and a few other fantastic postpartum books, we've seen an increase in postpartum care. I see this as the great postpartum movement and I am delighted.

The self-care and kitchen techniques I am about to share with you have never been shared before, as I have only made this food for the moms here locally.
